Asian Life Insurance offers up to 100% waiver on policy renewal interest

Kathmandu. Asian Life Insurance Company Limited has announced a waiver of up to 100% on the interest charged for renewing lapsed insurance policies.

According to the company, policies that have exceeded six months past the premium due date (fully lapsed) as of mid-May 2026 will be eligible for renewal with interest discounts if renewed between June 3, 2026, and July 3, 2026.

Policies that lapsed more than five years before May 3, 2021 will receive a 25% discount on interest. Those lapsed for five years (since May 20, 2021) will receive a 50% discount. Policies that lapsed since May 3, 2024 up to the present will receive a 100% discount.

The company clarified that no discount will be provided for policies with less than two years remaining in the premium-paying term, and that policyholders who have already availed interest discounts once will not be eligible for the benefit again.
