Bringing the Peace Process to its Logical Conclusion is the Main Agenda of Nepal: Prime Minister Prachanda

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that completing the rest of the work of transitional justice is the main political issue of Nepal. Addressing the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations held in New York, America on behalf of Nepal, he informed the world community that the peace process has been brought to a logical conclusion.

Prime Minister Prachanda said, ‘Nepal is trying to bring the peace process to its logical conclusion with its own unique style.As the Prime Minister and the signatory of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, I am making serious efforts to reach consensus among all parties and stakeholders involved in the process.

Informing that the Bill on Truth and Transitional Justice has been registered in the Federal Parliament for amendment, Prime Minister Dahal expressed his commitment to bring the peace process to a conclusion that would be accepted by the affected parties and the society.

In order to address the interests of the victims, Prime Minister Dahal clarified that after a serious discussion and interaction with them, the bill was presented to Parliament for amendment, and that no amnesty would be given to the serious crimes committed during the conflict.
