Distribution of Insurance money to the Families of those who Died in the ‘Jajarkot Earthquake’ on the Initiative of the Insurance Authority
Kathmandu: The Karnali state government has started handing over insurance funds to the families of those who died in the Jajarkot earthquake. With the initiative and coordination of the Nepal Insurance Authority Karnali Provincial Office, the provincial government has started transferring insurance funds to the families of those who died in the earthquake.
On Tuesday, 6th December, 2023 A.D the money was handed over to the families of 30 out of 56 people in Nalgad municipality according to the spokesperson of the government, Internal Affairs and Law Minister Krishna Bahadur G.C. The amount of insurance was handed over by Karnali Province Law Minister- GC and Karnali Province Chief of Nepal Insurance Authority- Padam Prasad Sodari.
Sodaari, head of Karnali Province, informed that the amount was distributed at the rate of 200 Thousand per death. According to him, they will gradually go to all the municipalities and distribute them in three to four days. The state government had already launched a natural disaster insurance program for the citizens living in Karnali where the insurance amount has been distributed.
157 people died in the earthquake in Jajarkot and Rukum West. Sodaari said, “We have started distributing funds early with the aim of helping the families of the deceased.”
The state government has also decided to start construction of public structures as soon as possible.
