Agriculture and Livestock Insurance Awareness Program Completed in Duduwa Rural Municipality of Banke by NLG Insurance
Kathmandu : NLG Insurance Company has completed agricultural and livestock insurance awareness program in Duduwa Rural Municipality of Banke District. The program was completed on Falgun 24 under the chairmanship of Bivek Bhandari, head of Nepalganj Branch of Hospitality and Insurance and in the presence of Ward Chairman of Rural Municipality Ward No. 5, Jhank Bahadur Thapa as a guest.
In the awareness program, member of Ward no 5, Jahir Yadav, Rajesh Bhandari-the company’s market representative, Chitra B.K-the employee of the Claims Department, and other stakeholders at different levels and farmers and businessmen involved in the agricultural profession from different wards of the municipality were present.
Branch Chief Bhandari informed about the purpose of organizing the discussion program, the provisions of insurance and the importance of agricultural insurance. He informed about how to do livestock and agricultural insurance and how to claim if there is any damage.
During the speech, the chief guest Thapa expressed his happiness that the discussion program on agricultural insurance was organized at the doorstep of the farmers of the municipality. He requested the NLG Insurance Company to carry forward the campaign of crops and vegetable insurance.
Thapa expressed his commitment to provide all possible support from the municipality for agriculture and livestock insurance brought by the government. A total of 63 people including local farmers and people’s representatives participated in the program. The farmers who participated in the discussion program stated that there should be ease in the payment of insurance claims, the insurance amount of livestock should be increased according to time, and the work of crop insurance should be made easier.
Regarding the complaints raised during the discussion, the branch head of the company, Bhandari, promised that the claim payment is being done quickly and if there is any weakness, it will be rectified and also the insurance amount will be maintained at the prevailing rate of the insurance amount in mutual agreement.
The discussion program was conducted by Karna Priya Rana, while animal specialist Dilli Bahadur Khadka facilitated the insurance procedures and the technical matters to be followed by the farmers.
