September 16th, 2023

Kathmandu; Met Life Nepal is making digital healthcare accessible to all with One by MetLife, the first mobile app of its kind in the country that combines insurance and health services in a single platform.

One by MetLife launched today at an event in Kathmandu, hosted by MetLife Nepal’s General Manager Nirmal Kajee Shrestha. Chairman Surya Prasad Silwal of Nepal’s Insurance Authority was the Chief Guest at the event, joined by MetLife Asia leaders including Elena Butarova, Head of Bangladesh, Malaysia, Nepal, and Vietnam; Sanjeev Kapur, Chief Marketing Officer, Asia; Young Ho Han, Head of Asia Distribution; Kok Choy Wong, Head of Asia Solutions Delivery; and Marwan Matar, Head of Asia Agency.

One by MetLife makes insurance policies more accessible, manageable, and transparent, while also empowering users to take control of their financial future. Beginning today, MetLife customers can register on the app to receive notifications about their policy, explore MetLife’s various insurance solutions and services, calculate their premiums, contact agents, and connect with the company for further information.

One by MetLife seamlessly integrates these digital insurance services with healthcare solutions via the 360Health feature on the app. 360Health was created to help users take an active role in managing their health and wellbeing, so they can live healthier for longer. In Nepal, one-fourth of the population suffers from hypertension, and serious illnesses like cancer, heart disease and stroke are among the top causes of death.

MetLife customers using 360 Health can track their heart rate, blood pressure, and health metrics through the Health Risk Assessment feature, powered by Binah’s Artificial Intelligence. They can also access services such as appointment bookings, home testing, ambulance services, virtual doctor consultations and second opinions from international specialists. Various services are also available to non-customers.

“We are proud to support Nepal’s goal to build a more confident, healthier future for all,” said Mr. Shrestha. “With the successful launch of One by MetLife and 360Health, we aim to revolutionize customer care and give millions across the country access to quality health services, all from a single mobile app.”

Nepal is the latest market in Asia to launch the award-winning 360Health, which is already available to consumers in Korea, China, Australia, Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates. It has accumulated more than 25 awards across these countries.

“360Health’s expansion across the world is evidence of the value it brings to our customers’ lives. MetLife is committed to delivering the best solutions for our customers at every stage of their journey,” said Sanjeev Kapur, Chief Marketing Officer, MetLife Asia
