Prime Minister Urges Chinese Investors to Invest in Nepal

Kathmandu : During the Evening reception organized by Embassy of Nepal in Beijing. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachand) expressed his excitement about statement in the meeting and discussions he had Jointly Chinese President Xi Jinping.

He said that they discussion  about Nepal-China Business Summit Cooperation for increasing Chinese investment and facilitating trade. He also added, the government and the private sector of both countries have said that they will cooperate to increase Chinese investment in Nepal, promote tourism and facilitate the export of Chinese goods.

In the Nepal-China Business Summit jointly organized by the Federation of Pal Industry and Commerce and the China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), high-ranking officials from both sides and representatives of the private sector also gave positive response on the further investment of Chinese investors in Nepal. Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’,was present as  the chief guest of the summit organized with the aim of promoting bilateral trade, developing the tourism sector and attracting Chinese Investment in Nepal.

In the summit he said that the investment environment of Nepal has improved now which is why he asked Chinese investors to invest in Nepal as there are many attractive field in Nepal for investment now. Referring to the traditional relationship between Nepal and China, Prime Minister Dahal said that economic development is possible due to the mutual relationship between the two countries. He said that no country can prosper without cooperation between the government and the private sector and he will create an environment for that.

Dahal said that the private sector is the backbone of the economy and the government is always ready to promote it. He also praised the federation for taking initiatives in investment, tourism and export promotion in the country and abroad.Dahal said that although China is the country that invests the most in Nepal and is the second largest country in trade but still the trade between the two countries is not good enough which is a matter of concern.

He emphasized that since Nepal has potential of exporting agricultural products which has high demand in the world and for that China can be the market for those products, efforts should be made to facilitate trade between them soon.       He also said that China is the most committed country to invest in Nepal.

He said that he is ready to cooperate in the field of tourism and agriculture in Nepal. It is mentioned that he will encourage more airlines from Nepal to expand their services with China.
