Life Insurance Companies Earn Over NPR 109.43 Billion in Premiums Across Seven Provinces

Kathmandu — Life insurance companies in Nepal have collectively earned NPR 109.43 billion in total insurance premiums across all seven provinces as of the end of the month of Falgun (mid-march), according to data released by the Nepal Insurance Authority.

The earnings include premiums from various life insurance categories, such as term, advance payment term, converted term, child-related term, foreign employment term, whole life, single premium, small insurance, and other life insurance products.

Bagmati Province, being the capital and the most developed in terms of infrastructure, contributed the highest share of business, amounting to NPR 47.44 billion. Lumbini Province followed in second place with NPR 17.45 billion in premiums.

Koshi Province ranked third with NPR 13.51 billion in business. Similarly, life insurance companies earned NPR 11.27 billion from Gandaki Province and NPR 9.83 billion from Madhesh Province.

Sudurpaschim Province generated NPR 6.73 billion in premiums, while being geographically remote and underdeveloped, Karnali Province recorded the lowest business at NPR 3.18 billion.
