Nepal Insurance Authority organized a Interaction and Discussion Program with Local Level

Kathmandu: In organization of Nepal Insurance Authority insurance awareness interaction programs have been completed in Konjyosom, Mahankal and Bagmati Rural Municipality of Lalitpur Under the Bagmati Province.

The Vice President of Konjyosom Rural Municipality, Rajan Prasad Ghimire, was Chief guest in the program on October 12th expressed his commitment to include insurance in the upcoming budget and to cooperate with all concerned to increase the insurance policy.

He also drew the attention of the relevant agencies to the problems in health insurance, agriculture and livestock insurance.

Similarly, The chief guest chairman Ganesh Bahadur KC, of same village municipality was addressed. This occasion was held as  an informative insurance program on October 11th in Mahankal rural municipality.

He has promised to provide a room for insurance related work after the building of the rural municipality is ready.

The vice chairperson of the village Dolma Maya Gole said, that all the related parties should insist on making insurance accessible to all citizens, including the low-income group.

Similarly, in the program held on October 11th in Bagmati Rural Municipality, Bir Bahadur Lopchan, chairman of the same rural municipality, requested to make the agriculture and livestock insurance more clear and set up an insurance service center in the rural municipality area.

In these programs, Director of Nepal Insurance Authority Dinesh Kumar Lal requested the rural municipality to make the insurance mandatory by linking it with the services of the rural municipality as the exact time of the incident is not known.

He also suggested to encourage the financially capable people to get insurance and arrange for the insurance of the disadvantaged groups to be provided by the rural municipality itself.

In these programs, Deputy Director of Nepal Insurance Authority Nirmal Adhikari gave a presentation on the introduction of insurance, importance, methods of insurance, claim payment process and the role of local level in the development and expansion of access to insurance.

The participants in the program expressed complaints that agricultural and livestock insurance is technically complex, insurance companies do not agree to provide agricultural insurance, there is no uniformity in insurance rates claim payment is complicated and long they do not clearly know where and how to get insurance.

The participants of the program drew the attention of all concerned to make the payment of insurance claims simple and easy and fast, to establish insurance service centers in rural areas in coordination with the local level, to further strengthen crop insurance to make insurance accessible to the underprivileged and to solve the problem of determining the price of buffaloes and goats. People’s representatives and employees of the concerned local level, The head of the branch office of the Chapagaon insurance company and farmers were participated in the program.
