Guterres in a Special Address to Parliament
Kathmandu: United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres, who is visiting Nepal, will deliver a special address in the Federal Parliament on Tuesday (today). For which a joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly is being held. The meeting is scheduled to be held at 4 pm at the Federal Parliament Building, New Baneshwar.
It is said that the joint meeting will be conducted under the chairmanship of the speaker. As soon as the meeting begins, the UN Secretary General Guterres has an agenda to address, according to the Parliament Secretariat.
Guterres, who is on a four-day visit to Nepal, is going to address the Parliament of Nepal for the first time. Guterres, who arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday morning, is returning at 10:15 am on Wednesday.
Since Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address in 2015, no foreign diplomat has addressed the Parliament of Nepal.
