Finance Minister Mahat’s direction to speed up the preparation of the investment conference

Kathmandu : Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has instructed to speed up the preparations for the third investment conference to be held in Kathmandu on April 28 and 29 of 2024 A.D (16th and 17th of Baisakh, 2081 B.S). Through the second meeting of Investment Conference of Sterring Committee, Finance Minister Dr. Mahat gave instructions to speed up necessary policy, legal and procedural reforms and project preparation.

Stating that the investment attraction of foreign investors as well as non-resident Nepalese and domestic private sector is a priority for the upcoming investment conference, Finance Minister Dr. Mahat called on the private sector to identify potential foreign investors and projects and present concrete suggestions.

To organize the investment conference, the government has set up a steering committee under the coordination of the finance minister, an implementation committee under the leadership of the chief secretary, a technical committee under the coordination of the secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply and a secretariat under the coordination of the chief executive officer of the investment board.
