The process of appointing A new chairman in SEBON has started; Formation of recommendation committee under the coordination of Dr. Shrestha

Kathmandu:The Government of Nepal has started the necessary process for the appointment of a new chairman for the vacant chairman position in the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). The recommendation committee has been formed by Government under the coordination of Min Bahadur Shrestha, the vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission.

According to the Ministry of Finance, a three-member recommendation committee was formed under the coordination of the Vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission, Dr. Meen Bahadur Shrestha, at the Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, 17th of January, 2024 A.D (3rd of Magh, 2080 B.S).

The recommendation committee consists of Dr.Krishnahari Pushkar, secretary of the Ministry of Finance, and Uday Niraula, a professor of management.

Uday Niraula, who was appointed as an expert member, is a professor of Sankardev Campus. He was invited by the government to participate in the selection and recommendation committee of the chairman of SEBON.

The recommendation committee will publicly call for proposals and recommend the names of three people to the Council of Ministers through the selection method. There is a legal provision to appoint one of the three persons as the Chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) through the meeting of the Council of Ministers.
