Ravi Singh gave 5 suggestions related to the upcoming Investment Conference

Kathmandu : Ravi Singh, chairman of the Federation of Construction Professionals, has said that it is necessary to make the construction sector viable in order to make the investment conference a success. Chairman Singh said that through the investment conference, the role of construction industry is very important, so, it is necessary to make the construction industry more efficient and capable in order to benefit the most from the investment conference.

Stating that the investment conference cannot be successful when there is disappointment in the construction industry, which is benefiting from the investment, chairman Singh suggested that the government should solve the problems of the construction industry immediately. Chairman Singh said that the importance of the investment conference will not be successful due to the lost morale of the construction professionals.

He claimed that the investment conference held by the government cannot be successful when the construction industry is problematic and there is no working environment for physical infrastructure. Chairman Singh said that when the construction sector is not active, investors cannot be attracted to Nepal.

He claimed that the investments being made in Nepal are not safe and when the construction professionals are in shortage, it is not possible for foreign investors to give confidence to the investors who came to the investment conference. He also said that the government does not have any projects to attract foreign investors at the investment conference.

Chairman Singh stated that the investment conference held in Nepal every year has zero achievement and claimed that there is no situation that Nepal can utilize positively from the investment conference if the construction companies environment is stable and efficient. He mentioned that the morale of the construction industry, which has been providing employment to 2.5 million workers and has a turnover of 8 billion, is itself in a weak state.

He said that even though investors are willing to invest, the environment has not been created to encourage and attract investors. He said that it is necessary to make the laws, rules and regulations in Nepal suitable for investment and emphasized that the government should be serious about this matter saying that construction companies that have succeeded in the world have failed in Nepal.

He said that the government should pay attention to how to make the construction companies successful. Stating that the government will not be successful only by formulating investment conferences and plans but instead it should be implemented correctly and the construction sector should be made operational by providing suitable environment by the government to work in Nepal.

Also, he stressed that the government should immediately address the problems in the construction industry and extend the deadline for the projects. He mentioned that even if the remaining payment can be made by taking a loan then the payments should be made but investment plans should not be made based on pressure by the Government.
