Madan Dahal Appointed Acting Chairperson of Nepal Insurance Authority
Kathmandu – The Ministry of Finance has appointed Joint Secretary Madan Dahal as the Acting Chairperson of the Nepal Insurance Authority, ensuring continuity in leadership until a permanent arrangement is made.
The Ministry announced the decision on Thursday, assigning Dahal to the role in line with Clause 6 of the Insurance Act, 2079. As the second-ranking official in the governing committee of the authority, Dahal will now oversee its operations as acting chairperson.
This decision follows legal proceedings initiated by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) against the authority’s Chairperson, Surya Prasad Silwal, who is facing charges filed at the Special Court.
Madan Dahal brings significant experience to his new role, having previously served as a director of the Nepal Insurance Authority. His extensive experience and deep understanding of the insurance sector are expected to provide stability and effective oversight during this transitional period.
