Insurance Awareness Program Held in Sabhapokhari Rural Municipality
Kathmandu – A discussion and interaction program on the importance of insurance, organized by the Nepal Insurance Authority, was held in Sabhapokhari Rural Municipality, Sankhuwasabha district, with the aim of raising awareness about the necessity of insurance for local residents.
Deputy Director Rajendra Maharjan emphasized using insurance for agricultural subsidies to protect farmers from future risks and urged the municipality to insure its buildings. He also urged the municipality to insure its buildings and utilize the 80 percent government subsidy available for agricultural insurance.
Chairman Bhim Bahadur Limbu committed to expanding insurance coverage, focusing on agriculture, livestock, and life insurance. He assured that the municipality would prioritize insurance in its future policy programs.
Vice President Laxmi Chapagain highlighted the potential for cardamom and orange insurance within the municipality and stated that the local government would now encourage insurance alongside firm registration and renewal. She also advised the public to gather complete information before purchasing insurance.
The program addressed common concerns, including insurance claims and payments, with Maharjan emphasizing the need for more effective insurance plans at the local level. Local representatives, farmers, and the general public attended the event.
