Insurance Institute of Nepal Holds Sixth AGM, Focuses on Sector Development and Training Initiatives

Kathmandu – The sixth annual general meeting (AGM) of the Insurance Institute of Nepal (IIN) concluded on Sunday in Kathmandu, passing its annual report and highlighting key directives for the development of the insurance sector.

Nepal Insurance Authority Chairman and IIN patron, Madan Dahal, emphasized the need for the Institute to take proactive measures in addressing emerging challenges in the insurance industry. Speaking at the AGM, Chairman Dahal urged IIN to prioritize research on critical issues, such as delays in insurance claim settlements, and expand its training programs to strengthen the professional capacity of insurance agents and surveyors. He further stressed the importance of decentralizing training programs to ensure access for insurance professionals across the country.

During the event, Dahal presented a certificate of appreciation to Raju Raman Poudel, the former Chairman of the IIN Board of Directors, in recognition of his contributions to the Institute. IIN Chairman Deep Prakash Pandey presented the annual report, outlining the Institute’s achievements over the past year. CEO Sushildev Subedi highlighted ongoing collaborations with international organizations and Kathmandu University to provide advanced training and research opportunities in insurance at the postgraduate level.

The AGM was attended by Board members, shareholders, and top executives from life, non-life, and reinsurance companies.
