Nepal Insurance Authority Appoints Sushil Dev Subedi as Executive Director

Kathmandu – Sushil Dev Subedi has been appointed as the new Executive Director of the Nepal Insurance Authority. The decision was made during a meeting of the Authority’s Recruitment Committee held on February 5, 2025.

Subedi, who joined the then Insurance Board as an Assistant Director in 2063 BS, has over 18 years of service in the insurance sector. Promoted to Deputy Director in 2070 BS and Director in 2076 BS, he has demonstrated consistent excellence throughout his career. Despite being junior in seniority, Subedi’s exceptional performance evaluation over the last five years solidified his recommendation for the position.

The recommendation for Subedi’s appointment was made by the Recruitment Committee, chaired by Madan Dahal, in coordination with the Public Service Commission and expert members. The candidates were based on performance (50 marks), seniority (30 marks), educational qualifications (17 marks), and training (3 marks). Subedi excelled, scoring 77.194 marks overall, including an impressive 49 out of 50 in performance evaluation. Although Kamal Raj Regmi had seniority in the competition, Subedi’s consistent performance over the past five years secured him the position.

A graduate of Shanker Dev Campus, Subedi holds a master’s degree in management, achieving first-class honors. He is expected to officially assume office after receiving his appointment letter once the notice is published and the office reopens.
