Insurers Urge Flood-Hit Policyholders in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading to File Claims
Kathmandu — Nepal’s insurance sector has swung into damage-response mode after severe flooding on the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading districts caused widespread loss of life and property, with multiple insurers and the Nepal Insurers’ Association urging affected policyholders to come forward and begin the claims process.
The Nepal Insurers’ Association expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and property caused by the flooding in Rasuwagadhi and downstream areas, paying tribute to those who died and extending condolences to bereaved families. The association said it was seriously concerned about damage to homes, vehicles, and industrial and business establishments, and affirmed that the insurance sector stands with affected policyholders. It has asked all insurance companies to facilitate and assist customers through the claims process and said it would coordinate to ensure damage assessment and settlement move as quickly and effectively as possible.
Individual insurers have echoed that call. Shikhar Insurance asked policyholders whose insured properties in Bhotekoshi, Rasuwa and Nuwakot were damaged to contact its branches or claims department. Customers can reach the Nuwakot branch at 9801912410 / 9801912411, the Naubise branch at 9801912402, the Dhading branch at 9801184853, 9802336465, 9801235103 or 9802320820, and the claims department directly at 9801237717.
Neco Insurance urged customers with flood-damaged property along the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa to report the extent of their losses so the company can provide assistance, directing them to contact Raghav Acharya at 9801918725. The company also expressed sorrow over the loss of life and property caused by the flooding.
Siddhartha Premier Insurance, whose policyholders were affected by flooding on both the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers, asked customers with damaged buildings, vehicles, and industrial or business facilities to report their losses. The company said it remains committed to honoring claims and provided several contacts for affected customers: Subodh Karmacharya (9851365272, [email protected]), Amita Tripathi (9851365269, [email protected]), Adarsh Shrestha (9851225901, [email protected]) and Girish Dahal (9851201424, [email protected]). The company also paid tribute to flood victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured, noting the disaster occurred on August 26, 2026.
With damage assessments still underway across the affected districts, insurers are collectively encouraging all policyholders (whether owners of homes, vehicles, or business and industrial property) to notify their respective companies without delay to begin the claim settlement process.
