Germany Extends Condolences to Nepal Over Trishuli Flood Disaster

KATHMANDU — Germany added its voice to the growing list of nations mourning with Nepal, with its top diplomat in the capital putting pen to paper in a condolence book set up by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The German Chargé d’Affaires signed the book on behalf of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, offering sympathy to Nepal’s government as well as to the victims and families affected by the recent disaster. The entry spoke of deep sorrow over the lives lost and the damage inflicted on communities along the Trishuli River Basin, one of the areas hit hardest by the flooding.

The message also struck a note of reassurance about the long-standing relationship between the two countries. It described Germany as a consistent partner to Nepal through past hardships, adding that Berlin’s commitment to the bilateral relationship remains unchanged even now.
