Pakistan Hands Over 100 Tons of Relief Assistance to Flood-Affected Nepal

Kathmandu — Pakistan has delivered 100 tons of relief assistance to Nepal to support people affected by the recent floods and landslides.

The consignment, which includes tents, blankets, mats, hygiene kits and medicines, arrived in Kathmandu on a chartered flight coordinated by Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal, H.E. Aamir Khan, handed over the supplies to Nepal’s Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Mahabir Pun. Khan said Pakistan’s support for Nepal remains steadfast and reaffirmed solidarity with the government and people of Nepal during this difficult time. He also conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and said Pakistan stands ready to offer further assistance.

The floods and landslides, which struck areas along the Nepal-China border, have killed more than 1,300 people, with thousands still missing. Nepal’s disaster authority estimates about $2.56 billion in property and infrastructure losses, and around 20,000 homes are expected t
