Reliable Nepal Life Upgraded to ‘A Minus’ Rating

Kathmandu – Reliable Nepal Life Insurance Limited has received an improved issuer rating of ‘Care-NP A minus (IS)’ from CARE Ratings Nepal Limited, upgrading from its previous ‘Care-NP BBB+ (IS)’ status.

This upgraded rating reflects the company’s strong solvency profile, robust premium growth, and steady profitability. According to CARE Ratings, the insurer demonstrated a notable solvency ratio of 3.61 times in FY 2080/81—well above the Insurance Authority’s minimum threshold of 1.30 times. The solvency ratio stood at just 1.58 times a year earlier, showing significant improvement.

Reliable Nepal Life has also expanded its nationwide presence, operating through 9 branches, 85 sub-branches, and a network of over 30,500 insurance agents across all seven provinces. This outreach has enabled the company to grow both urban and rural customer bases, while also promoting insurance awareness.
