Life Insurance Companies Earn Over Rs 49 Billion in Premiums in First Quarter
Kathmandu – Life insurance companies in Nepal collected a total insurance premium of Rs 49.22 billion during the first quarter of the current fiscal year 2082/83, according to data released by the Nepal Insurance Authority (NIA).
Among the companies, Nepal Life Insurance Company maintained its leading position, securing the highest premium income of Rs 13.45 billion during the review period.
National Life Insurance Company followed in second place, recording premium earnings of Rs 5.68 billion, while LIC Nepal ranked third, with total business of Rs 4.98 billion up to Ashoj.

Other major performers included Rastriya Jeevan Beema Company (Rs 4.53 billion), Himalayan Life Insurance Company (Rs 4.43 billion), Asian Life Insurance Company (Rs 2.88 billion), Citizen Life Insurance Company (Rs 2.17 billion), Sanima Reliance Life Insurance (Rs 1.81 billion), and MetLife Nepal (Rs 1.66 billion).
Meanwhile, IME Life Insurance earned a total premium of Rs 1.51 billion, followed by Reliable Nepal Life Insurance with Rs 1.45 billion, Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Insurance with Rs 1.40 billion, and Sun Nepal Life Insurance with Rs 957.2 million in the same period.
