November 6th, 2026

Kathmandu  — Global IME Bank Limited has started building a new corporate headquarters at Uttardhoka, with Board Chair Chandra Prasad Dhakal and CEO Surendra Raj Regmi performing the bhumipuja on Friday.

The 12-storey building will cover about 146,000 square feet, with two basement parking levels, a ground floor and nine upper floors. The bank says it will be the largest and most modern among commercial bank headquarters.

It is designed to be energy-efficient, with rooftop solar power and a system to collect and treat rainwater, Regmi said.

The bank operates 341 branches, 366 ATMs and 136 branchless banking centers, and says it is the first private commercial bank to reach all 77 districts.
