Sun Nepal Life Insurance Reports Strong Profit Growth in Q1, Profit Rises to 44%

Kathmandu — Sun Nepal Life Insurance Company has released its financial results for the fourth quarter of the current fiscal year, reporting notable growth in profitability despite a slight decline in total premium earnings

According to the published statement, the company collected a total insurance premium of Rs 1.08 billion during the review period, compared to Rs 1.16 billion in the same quarter last year. However, based on net insurance premiums, the insurer recorded Rs 1.04 billion, marginally higher than last year’s Rs 1.03 billion, indicating stable core premium income.

The company’s profitability saw a significant boost. Sun Nepal Life posted a 44 percent increase in net profit, reaching Rs 239.2 million, up from Rs 166.1 million in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

During the review period, the insurer’s life insurance fund reached Rs 10.41 billion. The company reported earnings per share (EPS) of Rs 18.95, while its net worth per share stood at Rs 161.89, underscoring a strong capital position.
