MetLife Reports Improved Indicators in Q1; Life Fund Grows by 14.83%

Kathmandu – MetLife has released its unaudited financial statements for the first quarter of the current fiscal year 2082/83, showing improvements across most key indicators.

The company posted a net profit of Rs 97.1 million in the first three months—a minimal decline of just 0.68 percent compared to Rs 96.5 million earned in the same period last fiscal year.

MetLife’s life insurance fund expanded significantly, rising 14.83 percent from Rs 26.66 billion to Rs 30.61 billion.

Similarly, the company’s net insurance premium income increased by 16 percent, reaching Rs 1.59 billion by the end of August. During the same period, total claim payments rose by 9.46 percent to Rs 779.2 million.

The insurer also strengthened its financial buffers, with the disaster fund increasing by 1.73 percent to Rs 586.8 million, and the reserve fund rising by 2.63 percent to Rs 269.12 million.

During the review period, MetLife recorded a total income of Rs 234.4 million against total expenses of Rs 214.1 million.
