Life Insurers Collect NPR 21.71 Billion in Renewal Premiums in July

Kathmandu — Life insurance companies collected NPR 21.71 billion in renewal premiums during the first month of the current fiscal year 2026/2027(2083/84). This represents a 32.55 percent increase from the NPR 16.38 billion collected during the same period of the previous fiscal year.

Insurance policies issued by companies must be renewed by paying premiums at regular intervals to keep them active. By renewing such policies, insurance companies have been collecting substantial amounts in renewal premiums.

Nepal Life collected the highest renewal premium in July, amounting to NPR 5.63 billion. Rastriya Jeevan Beema Company collected NPR 3.74 billion, National Life NPR 2.38 billion, Himalayan Life NPR 1.988771 billion, and Life Insurance Corporation Nepal NPR 1.9 billion in renewal premiums.

Similarly, SuryaJyoti Life collected NPR 1.19billion, Asian Life NPR 921.71million, Sanima Reliance Life NPR 713.34 million, Citizen Life NPR 662.58 million, and IME Life NPR 654.44million in renewal premiums. Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life collected NPR 576.83 million, Reliable Nepal Life NPR 516.49 million, MetLife NPR 460.14 million, and Sun Nepal Life NPR 359.46 million.

In terms of growth, Rastriya Jeevan Beema Company recorded the highest increase in renewal premiums, rising by 854.20 percent. IME Life recorded a growth of 26.40 percent, followed by National Life at 19.60 percent, Reliable Nepal Life at 18.18 percent, SuryaJyoti Life at 17.47 percent, Sanima Reliance Life at 16.38 percent, and Asian Life at 15.65 percent.
