Life Insurance Companies Collect Rs 12.47 Billion in First Premiums in Five Months

Kathmandu: Nepal’s life insurance sector has demonstrated significant growth, with 14 life insurance companies collectively amassing Rs 12.47 billion in first insurance premiums in the first five months of the current fiscal year.

According to data released by the Insurance Authority, Rs 2.67 billion of the amount was collected in the last month of Mangsir (mid-November to mid-December) alone, highlighting a strong performance in the sector.

Nepal Life Insurance Company has maintained its leadership position, securing the highest share of first premiums with Rs 3.21 billion during the period.

National Life Insurance Company ranks second, having collected Rs 1.88 billion in first premiums, followed by LIC Nepal in third place with Rs 1.27 billion. Himalayan Life Insurance has secured the fourth position, collecting Rs 940 million.
