May 15th, 2025

Kathmandu — Commemorating the beginning of its 57th year, the Nepal Insurance Authority’s Koshi Province Office organized a large-scale blood donation program in Biratnagar. The event was held under the chief hospitality of Sukdev Mandal, President of the Morang chapter of the Nepal Red Cross Society.

According to Binod Kumar Pokharel, Chief of the Nepal Insurance Authority’s Biratnagar Office, the program successfully collected 81 pints of blood through the joint efforts of individuals directly involved in the insurance sector. He stated that this initiative demonstrates the dedication of insurance professionals to community service beyond their regular duties.

The chief guest of the event expressed concern over the growing blood shortage, citing the impact of increasing foreign employment and declining participation in blood donation drives. He emphasized the importance of organizing such programs regularly to provide timely support to those in need.

Insurance professionals from life, non-life, and micro insurance companies, along with insurance agents, surveyors, and other stakeholders, actively participated in the humanitarian initiative.

In continuation of the anniversary celebrations, the Nepal Insurance Authority Koshi Province Office has announced a prabhat pheri (morning march) on Jestha 1 (May 15). The rally will begin at 8 a.m. from Tinpaini and conclude at Mahendra Chowk, aiming to raise public awareness about insurance and its growing significance in daily life.
