The Governor of Rashtra Bank is the Commission for the Renewal of Debtors who Should be Blacklisted in Policy Corruption
Kathmandu: The Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank is involved in political corruption. The governor officer has been accused of political corruption by giving concessions to the big businessmen of Nepal to refinance the interest without paying and paying the outstanding amount to various banks and financial institutions.
Governor Mahaprasad Adhikari had saved some large business houses last Baisakh by giving them a discount to renew their interest and installments when they were blacklisted due to their inability to pay their debts. It is alleged that the governor officer took commission for arranging the same.
A complaint has been filed against the Governor Mahaprasad Adhikari in the Constitutional Anti-Corruption Commission, alleging that the Nepal Rastra Bank committed political corruption through the third quarter review of the monetary policy of last year and took a commission for it.
Governor Adhikari, through the third quarter review of last year’s monetary policy, gave an exemption for the construction sector to settle the debts of debtors who could not be paid by the middle of last June. Likewise, the governor officer also gave concessions to renew the loans of the industries which have been showing negative growth for two consecutive quarters.
With this facility, more than 10 big business houses of Nepal were able to renew their loans without having to pay billions of rupees to the banks and secured their security.
Even the banks that auctioned the real estate due to the loan of few lakhs taken by the public have become witness to the rampant political corruption of the governor officer. Due to microfinance loans, the governor officials have further encouraged political corruption, by making policy arrangements and escaping from Jaskela, even when large business houses are unable to pay their debts and the property is auctioned, those who enter the common people’s sheds and take away cows, buffaloes, and goats.
In this way, a complaint has been filed with the authority demanding an investigation, saying that the governor’s officer has committed an economic crime by doing injustice and discrimination like scaring the public and giving exemptions to big business houses.
A moral crisis has arisen against him after a complaint was filed demanding an investigation into political corruption while he was being accused of taking stock investors to the streets.
At a time when the economic condition of the country is weak and the import-dependent economy is facing problems, some of the measures taken by him are of a nature to further devastate the national economy.
Although other allegations regarding strict regulation by the National Bank are not justified, it is seen that the issue of implementing different policies on borrowers will prove to be costly. The Constitution of Nepal has given equal rights to all citizens.
However, after the instructions of the Governor’s Officer, the National Bank has made arrangements to collect the amount from the borrowers and not to do so in different areas. A complaint has been filed with the authority for investigation.
