To buy Fresh Gold and Silver Coins, Line up to 5 o’clock in Taksar, when will it be your Turn?

Kathmandu : Common people who have lost their investments in other areas are attracted to gold. The ‘gold craze’ of common people has been proven when the price of gold has taken a leap. An example of which is the crowd buying gold and silver coins being sold by Central Bank targeting Tihar.

Starting from Sunday, Central Bank is selling gold and silver coins targeting Tihar, the second great festival of Hindus. The central bank has opened the sale of gold coins and silver coins to the general public till the 24th through the currency management department i.e. Taksar Mahashakha at Babarmahal. Where common people queue up to buy gold and silver coins at 9 in the morning, they wait till 5 in the evening to buy the coins. A female customer told Bimapost, “I arrived late yesterday and did not get my turn.” She came today at 10 o’clock, after waiting in line for 3 hours, her turn finally came. She said that since she could not buy gold coins last year, she came with the aim of buying gold this year.

Not only him, most of the people in the queue said that they would buy gold coins. A male customer said that the gold coins distributed by the National Bank have purity and can be used at any time later, so he has been collecting waste continuously for 5 years.

He said, ‘Now we will worship at Tihar. It’s going to be a lot of trouble when your son and grandson get married later!’ He said that even though there will be various problems with the gold bought from the market, he also said that he will be confident if he buys the coins sold by the National Bank.Another customer who was standing in the queue to get coins informed that he was queuing up for gold because gold investments are safer than elsewhere. He said, “Sound is sound.” In the current situation, the investment made in gold will not be wasted. It is safe. Although it is an excuse for Tihar, the investment is safe by buying gold!

Director Thaneshwar Acharya told Bimapost that even though (Taksar) has kept the sales time from 11 am to 3 pm every day until the 24th, the buyers of coins are waiting in line till 5 am. He informed that this time it was more organized than in the past. According to him, arrangements have been made for one line for buying silver and gold by paying cash and another line for paying through QR.

He said, “In case of waste of gold, after standing in line for 1 to 1.5 hours, arrangements have been made to go to the purchase counter and take it.” According to him, (Taksar) has minted new gold coins that will be sold and distributed for Tihar on Sunday and Monday.

A person gets a maximum of one set of gold coins. In which a total of 17 and a half grams of (Asarfi) can be purchased by the general public. One can buy one 25 gram coin with cow motif, 10 gram coin with cow motif, 10 gram coin with Laxmi motif, 10 gram coin with Ganesh motif and one set of 10 gram silver coin with Gaja Laxmi motif. Director Acharya said that the price is fixed according to the daily market price. Central Bank has been selling gold bullion and silver coins every year before Tihar.
