Insurance Interaction Program Completed in Mahottari

Kathmandu: Madhesh Province, Office of Nepal Insurance Authority has conducted an insurance interaction program. The authority completed the interaction program with other municipalities of Mahottari on 6th of December, 2023 A.D.

According to the annual program for the fiscal year 2023 A.D the Madhesh Province Office of the Authority has conducted the program with the local government regarding the Nepal Insurance Authority. The event’s chairmanship was done by Nepal Insurance Authority Madhesh Province Office Chief Kusum Sharma.

Municipal Chief-Pradip Kumar Khadka, Municipal Deputy Chief-Renu Jhaa, Municipal Chief Administrative Officer-Dhirendra Lal Karna and ward presidents of various wards were also present in the program as chief guests.

In the event, Municipal Chief-Pradip Kumar Khadka was present as chief guest, Municipal Deputy Chief- Renu Jha as special guest and Municipal Chief Administrative Officer-Dhirendra Lal Karna as special guest along with different chairman from their respective wards were also present.

The program was conducted by Anish Timalsina, Assistant Director of Nepal Insurance Authority. More than 70 people participated in the program including ward presidents, executive members, employees of municipality, leading farmers, representatives of civil society and representatives of branch offices of insurance companies.

Nirmal Khanal, assistant director of the authority made a welcome speech and presented his presentation on the introduction of Nepal Insurance Authority, job duties and rights, introduction of insurance, agricultural herbs and livestock insurance, micro insurance and other topics.

After that, in the discussion program, the participants raised questions about life insurance, insurance fee calculation as well as payment period, insurance of agriculture and different crops and claim payment process. In addition, some participants expressed the opinion that quality service will be provided only by providing adequate training to employees and agents.

In the event, the representatives of Life Insurance and Non-Life Insurance provided information about insurance in the local language as well. The chief guest of the program and the mayor of the city emphasized that the service delivery of insurance should be streamlined and everyone should insure their lives and their properties. He believed that the range will increase if everyone do their work with conviction and dedication. He also emphasized that the farmers are not getting full benefit from the agricultural insurance and for this, the claim payment process should be made faster and simpler by increasing the literacy related to the agricultural insurance.

At the end of the program, Provincial Office Chief Sharma informed that the claim payment procedure have been issued to simplify the claim payment and suggested that the municipality should start the insurance campaign by insuring its physical structures. In addition, he asked the representatives of the insurance company to coordinate the necessary visits to the municipality from time to time, while requesting to understand the service conditions and get the receipt after paying the insurance fee.
