2 Youths died in the riots in Balkumari where gunshot order was given by higher authority

Kathmandu : It has been confirmed that the police fired indiscriminately on the orders of the Home Minister and the CDO on the agitating unemployed youths who were not allowed to take the Employment Permit System (EPS) examination at Balkumari in Lalitpur.

Chief District Officer of Lalitpur, Rudra Prasad Pandit, informed Beemapost that after the order of the Ministry of Home Affairs only shots were fired in order to control the protesting youths.

He said, “It will happen only by the order of the CDO. It was coordinated. I am now at the scene. I can’t talk for a long time.”

He also said that the youth protested after not being able to take the EPS exam. During the demonstration, they set fire to the vehicle of the incumbent Physical Infrastructure and also on the vehicle of transport Minister, Prakash Jwala, due to which the police had to use force.

21-year-old Birendra Shah and 23-year-old Sujan Raut, who were taken to Kist Hospital and Patan hospital respectively for treatment, died due to the use of force by the police. Even another youth was also hit by bullet fortunately, he was saved by the mobile phone kept in his bag as the bullet was blocked by it.

According to the EPS office, the youth who have filled the exam form for the ship building company will not be able to take the exam for other fields. The youths went to court against the decision that they took the exam in the shipping company but were not allowed to fill the form. The High Court ordered those 18 citizen to provide permission to participate in the examination in the production and agricultural sector even though they had already filled the form for ship building.

The EPS office had invited only those who filed a writ in the court to apply for the form not for others due to which the demonstration took place when other students could not fill the form.The riots had become big and violent due to which the police had to use tear gas and water to control the public but open fire was given permission which is directly inhuman behave towards Nepalese citizen by the Government of Nepal.
