We have sent to ministry of finance to theoretical consent for the implementation of the unified statistics of cooperatives provisions Act: Minister Adhikari

Kathmandu : Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Minister Balram Adhikari said,  Cooperatives is an important part of economic sectors. But, recently, the cooperative sector has been raising the questions to provide the justice from the saving member.

The meeting with the representative of Nepal Cooperative Journalist Society (CJN) in the office ministry of cooperative, minister pointed out that it is wrong to develop the mentality that all cooperatives are the same even though some cooperatives have done wrong. “Until this recognition cannot be separated, the cooperative campaign cannot go up”, said the minister Adhikari. Noting the concern over the declining credibility of cooperatives, the minister said that the ministry has drawn attention to it.

He said that even though the number of cooperatives is 31 thousand, even does not have accurate fact of data, he said that he will try to get the actual data. Pointed out that the cooperatives will be registered and monitored by the union, national and local levels, emphasized that the same agency originated them should have effective regulation.According to ministry Adhikari, cooperatives can be registered on numbers of population and based of geography.

To discussing the act already sent in the ministry level for the theoretical permission. Loan Information Center, Savings and Debt Recovery Tribunal and the second level regulatory body. Once approved Act by the Ministry of Finance, the process will be taken forward.He also said that the government has formed a negotiation team to solve the problem seriously about their demands and by victims of cooperatives theirs saving members.
