Federation of Nepalese Journalists completed 12th Conference

Kathmandu : The 12th Conference program of Federation of Nepalese Journalists in Kathmandu has been completed. Information, Communication and Technology Minister, Rekha Sharma was present as the chief guest in that program.

Deputy Editor of Beemapost, Dhan Bahadur Magar has been awarded with ‘Tara Neupane Smriti Journalism Award’ on the occasion of 12th Conference program of Federation of Nepalese Journalists.

Communication Minister Rekha Sharma handed over the award to Dhan Bahadur Magar, who has been contributing to Nepalese Journalism for the past 30 years.

Awarded journalist Magar is also the former Vice Chairman of Federation of Nepalese Journalists, Kathmandu branch. Journalist Magar was associated with Manadasa Weekly (News Paper) since before the Maoist People’s War started.Similarly, Beemapost’s editor Nabaraj Neupane was also honored with ‘the activism youth award’ in the same program.

Addressing the 12th conference of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists, Minister of Communications Sharma said that the necessary initiative has been taken by the Government to form a ‘New Media Council Bill’ which will help to support public welfare advertisements and media workers.

Damodar Dawadi, Sagar Pant, Gopal Changchha Rai, Ishwari Wagle, Hari Lamsal, Yuvraj Bidrohi and Santram Bidari were also honored and awarded in that program.

The program was conducted under the chairmanship of  Surya Subedi, chairman of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists.
