Deputy Director Birod Bhatta Transferred to Legal Branch of Nepal Insurance Authority

Kathmandu – Deputy Director Birod Bhatta, who has been serving in the Grievance Handling Branch of the Nepal Insurance Authority for the past five years, has been transferred to the Lagal Branch.

The transfer follows recent promotions within the Authority and the appointment of a new chairman. Bhatta, known for his active role in resolving insurance disputes and ensuring justice for policyholders, will now assume the role of head of the Law Branch. His new responsibilities come after the promotion of Shambaraj Lamichhane, the former Deputy Director of the Legal Branch.

A holder of a master’s degree in commercial law from the United Kingdom, Bhatta has been a key figure in the Complaints Branch since Shrawan 2075 BS. During his tenure, he has played a pivotal role in interpreting and analyzing insurance laws, contributing to over 500 case decisions involving insured individuals. His expertise has also been instrumental in supporting the Authority’s legal proceedings.
