Shikhar Insurance Concludes Fourth Annual Surveyor Seminar

Kathmandu – Shikhar Insurance Company Limited successfully concluded its fourth annual surveyor seminar on Tuesday, focusing on enhancing professional capabilities in insurance claim management. The event, themed “Capacity Enhancement for Professional Excellence in Claim Management,” brought together key stakeholders from Nepal’s insurance and reinsurance sectors to streamline and strengthen the claims process.

The seminar held at a hotel in Kathmandu hosted over 190 participants, including 110 licensed surveyors and industry experts. The full-day event featured five technical presentations, each addressing critical aspects of claim settlement. Presenters included Udit Prasad Kafle of Shikhar Insurance, Bikash Maharjan from the Nepal Insurance Surveyor Association, Sisir Gaire of Himalayan Reinsurance on environmental risks, and Shambaraj Lamichhane of the Nepal Insurance Authority on the evolving role of surveyors.

The closing ceremony was presided over by Shikhar Insurance Chairman Gaurav Agrawal, with Nepal Insurance Authority Chairman Sharad Ojha serving as the chief guest. Distinguished figures such as Prof. Dr. Fatta Bahadur KC, former chairman of the authority, and Birendra Baidawar Shrestha, chairman of the Nepal Insurance Association, were also in attendance.

During the ceremony, four surveyors — Sher Bahadur Buda, Lochan Kendra Devkota, Rabin Sharma, and Amir Khanal — were recognized for their outstanding service in the fiscal year 2080/081. Praising the initiative, NEA Chairman Ojha remarked that such recognition not only celebrates individual contributions but also motivates surveyors to uphold timeliness and excellence in future claim settlements.
