Micro Life Insurers Grow Premium Income by 53% in FY 2025/26
Kathmandu — Nepal’s three licensed micro life insurance companies generated a combined gross written premium of NPR 1.21 billion in the last fiscal year, reflecting strong growth in the country’s emerging microinsurance sector.
According to industry data, the three insurers collected a total of NPR 1.21 billion in gross premiums during the fiscal year.
Guardian Micro Life Insurance remained the market leader, generating NPR 426.98 million in gross written premiums. Crest Micro Life Insurance followed with NPR 418.09 million, while Liberty Micro Life Insurance collected NPR 365.83 million.
The sector recorded significant year-on-year growth. In the previous fiscal year, the three companies had generated a combined NPR 792.61 million in gross written premiums.
During that period, Guardian Micro Life collected NPR 315.83 million, Crest Micro Life generated NPR 293.02 million, and Liberty Micro Life reported NPR 183.76 million in gross premiums.
Overall, the micro life insurance sector expanded by 52.76 percent over the past year, highlighting the rapid growth of specialized microinsurance providers in Nepal.
