Non-Life Insurance Premiums Rise By Almost 21% to NPR 9.83 Billion in Two Months: Company-Wise Breakdown
Kathmandu — Fourteen non-life insurance companies collected a combined NPR 9.83 billion in premiums by the end of Bhadra (Aug-Sep) in fiscal year 2026/27, up 20.97% from NPR 8.13 billion during the same period of the previous fiscal year, according to the figures reported.
Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance recorded the highest premium collection at NPR 1.095 billion, compared with NPR 894.4 million a year earlier. Shikhar Insurance ranked second with NPR 1.0434 billion, up from NPR 848.2 million.
NLG Insurance collected NPR 971.7 million, compared with NPR 687.5 million in the same period last year. Himalayan Everest Insurance collected NPR 961.7 million, up from NPR 711.7 million.
Siddhartha Premier Insurance recorded premiums of NPR 895.2 million, compared with NPR 773.3 million a year earlier. IGI Prudential Insurance collected NPR 825.2 million, up from NPR 629.1 million.
The Oriental Insurance collected NPR 740.6 million, compared with NPR 595 million last year, while Neco Insurance collected NPR 706.9 million, up from NPR 580.1 million. United Ajod Insurance recorded NPR 617.2 million, compared with NPR 574.8 million in the same period last year.
Nepal Insurance collected NPR 432.7 million. Sanima GIC Insurance recorded NPR 422.6 million, down from NPR 493.7 million a year earlier.
National Insurance collected NPR 411.5 million, up from NPR 350.2 million, while Rastriya Beema Company recorded NPR 363 million, compared with NPR 298.1 million. Prabhu Insurance collected NPR 344.9 million, up from NPR 323.2 million.

NLG Insurance posted the highest year-on-year growth at 41.35%, followed by Himalayan Everest Insurance at 35.12% and IGI Prudential Insurance at 31.17%.
The Oriental Insurance recorded growth of 24.45%, Shikhar Insurance 23.01%, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance 22.43%, Neco Insurance 21.86% and Rastriya Beema Company 21.79%.
Nepal Insurance and National Insurance each reported growth of 17.51%, while Siddhartha Premier Insurance grew by 15.77%. United Ajod Insurance recorded growth of 7.39%, and Prabhu Insurance grew by 6.71%.
Sanima GIC Insurance was the only company to report a decline, with premium collection falling 14.38% year on year.
