Kathmandu – Nepal’s four micro non-life insurance companies generated a combined Rs 1.10 billion in gross written premiums during the first ten months of fiscal year 2025/26 (up to mid-May 2026), reflecting continued expansion of insurance access in the microinsurance segment.
Among the four companies, Protective Micro Insurance Company Limited recorded the highest business volume, collecting Rs 311.1 million in total premiums during the review period.
It was followed by Nepal Micro Insurance Company Limited, which generated Rs 273.5 million in premium income.
Similarly, Star Micro Insurance Company Limited earned Rs 260.19 million in total premiums, while Trust Micro Insurance Company Limited collected Rs 253.5 million.
The data also show steady growth in policy issuance across the sector.
By mid-May 2026, Protective Micro Insurance had issued 120,685 insurance policies, the highest among the companies.
Star Micro Insurance issued 116,264 policies, followed by Nepal Micro Insurance with 101,316 policies, while Trust Micro Insurance issued 80,725 policies during the same period.
