Kathmandu: It is not new for Nepal to loot important resources of the country due to access to state power. Beemapost has discovered the fact that about 400 families in Ramgram Municipality Ward No. 7, located in West Nawalparasi, are about to be the victim of a scam worth 75 billion rupees.

Nikesh Adhikari, the son of the contractor Sharda Prasad Adhikari, who has been giving pain to the people by taking the contracts all over the country in his hands, has set up a private company called Promise Land and the project has been started to develop Ramgram area same as Lumbini. The official who came into controversy by blocking dozens of roads in Nepal is also the landlord of Prime Minister Prachanda. Taking advantage of the same, a gang with officials has started a 75 billion rupees scam project to raise a settlement in Ramgram Udini through Promish Land Pvt. Ltd. and build a new historical city.Lharkyal Lama of the controversial image is currently the vice-chairman of the Lumbini Development Fund. With his connivance, the project related to billions of rupees scam is going to be carried forward. It has been reported that tourism minister Sudan Kiranti also participated in the event in a grand manner. The people’s representatives of Ramgram municipality have accepted that the new project to be developed in Ramgram will displace around 400 families. They say that such a big project is working under the pressure of Tourism Minister Sudan Kiranti and Lumbini Development Fund.

Lumbini Development Fund Chairman Lharkyal Lama has admitted to Beemapost that the large project started to be listed in the World Heritage List is being led by Pramise Land Pvt. He said that he is currently busy with the program and will give more details later.

On the other hand, the Deputy Mayor of Ramgram Municipality, Mejjana Chaudhary has informed that Prime Minister Prachanda will inaugurate Ramgram today. However, the Secretariat has not said anything about Prime Minister Prachanda going to Lumbini on 12th of December. Rumors have started within the party that Prachanda will not participate in the project that is going to be inaugurated by Prachanda. If Prime Minister Prachanda himself goes and inaugurates the 75 billion scam project today, it will be another coincidence that Prime Minister Prachanda will do it on his own birthday.

The scandal involving billions of rupees from a controversial contractor is seen in West Nawalparasi as a bigger scandal than the famous Baluwatar scandal. The currently discussed 100 acre “bigha” land means the main purpose of raising the people from the area of about 1300 “ropani” and excavating some of the main places of the place and developing it as a historical heritage and making the rest of the land as a colony and selling it to domestic and foreign nationals.

Criticism of Prachanda has started within the Maoist party saying that he is going to embroil Prime Minister Prachanda by inaugurating the project. Some responsible leaders of the party are alleging that the secretariat at Baluwatar is not able to manage properly. Remember, just a few days ago Haribol Gajurel, Prachanda’s main political advisor, resigned.
