Seven thousand insurance agents got license system of online examination

Kathmandu : At present, more than 7 thousand people who want to work in life insurance companies operating in Nepal have passed the online examination. The total number of agents who have passed the online examination (Zoom) of life insurance agents conducted by the Nepal Insurance Authority has reached 7 thousand 184.

 In the Insurance Act 2079, the insurance intermediary’s license has been made mandatory and the authority has arranged for the exam through an online system. Prior to this, there was a system of licensing by the insurance companies themselves. If the exam has to be given now, then the insurance authority is struggling to manage the exam.

Insurers say that even those who have prepared for the exam have to wait for a long time. As the exam has to be done online, even minor technical glitches lead to the cancellation of the exam. Apart from some technical problems, the agents are able to take the exam easily.

Bookings are made within some time for the exams fixed by the authority. No one can take the exam in their own time. In the early days, the insurance authority made a schedule at different times keeping in mind the people in other professions. But now, even if you book on the time set by the insurance authority rather than your schedule, it is a big achievement.

Insurers say that there is a situation where the insurance authority should extend the time for the examination or allow the insurance companies to conduct the examination. The companies are of the opinion that only the Insurance Authority cannot conduct the examination of agents required for 14 life insurance companies.

With the development of the examination system, the practice of studying has been developed even if it is for the purpose of becoming an agent. The authority has asked 50 questions online. 25 of these questions must be answered. If the answers to 25 questions are not met, there is a provision of failure.
