Prime Minister Suggested to Make the Health Insurance more Effective
Kathmandu : Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has suggested to make the health insurance more effective and service-oriented.
Addressing the program held on Sunday (25th of Chaitra, 2080 B.S) on the occasion of the 8th Health Insurance Day, Prime Minister Prachanda emphasized that the system of co-payment implemented by the Health Insurance Board should be made service-oriented.
Prime Minister Prachanda said, “Arrangements and provisions such as online membership registration system, ‘real time claim system’, technology-friendly insurance system’ are targeted reform plans’. He also said, “The government is committed in providing health services in an equitable manner through health insurance, which is also the main goal of the government.”
In order to increase the attractiveness of this program, Prime Minister Prachanda emphasized on the need to complete the important tasks to be taken from the state and service provider agencies. He also mentioned about the attention to issues such as, simplifying the process of receiving services by the insured, maintaining the quality of service, and making the service provider organizations more service-friendly.
He stressed on the need to maintain good governance and financial discipline as well as suggested conduct an effective literacy campaign about the health insurance program.
According to the Prime Minister, the quantity and quality of the health insurance program can also be improved by making the health insurance card mandatory. He also sat together with the insured of health insurance in the program and listened to their complaints.
