Day 2 of ICII 2024: Highlights Global Strategies for Inclusive Insurance
Kathmandu, The second day of the International Conference on Inclusive Insurance (ICII) 2024 is set to highlight critical discussions around global microinsurance trends and the development of inclusive insurance markets. The session will focus on strategies to close the protection gap and deliver insurance solution.
The program will begin with featuring keynote addresses by Arup K. Chatterjee, Principal Financial Sector Specialist at the Asian Development Bank, and Jeffrey Sachs, President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network. Opening remarks will be delivered by Renate Bleich, Chair of the Munich Re Foundation.
According to programme schedule, the Microinsurance Network will present preliminary findings from the “Landscape of Microinsurance 2024” research series. The session will highlight inclusive insurance trends and emerging opportunities, with insights from experts including Erik Jarrin, Rachel Levenson, and Solene Favre.
Attention will also turn to the Philippines, with a case study on the success of Card Pioneer Microinsurance Inc. (CPMI), which has over 23 million policyholders. The discussion will feature insights from Jaime Aristotle Alip, Founder of CARD MRI, and Lorenzo Chan, CEO of Pioneer.
The day will conclude with a focus on Nepal’s inclusive insurance market. Key industry leaders such as Dip Prakash Panday, CEO of Shikhar Insurance, and Upasana Poudel, CEO of Himalayan Reinsurance, will discuss the challenges and growth opportunities in the local insurance landscape.
