Nepal Insurance Authority Concludes Review and Announces New Plans for Fiscal Year 2082/83

Kathmandu — The Nepal Insurance Authority has concluded its annual policy and program discussion for the fiscal year 2082/83 in a two-day event held in Godawari, Lalitpur. The grand program also included a comprehensive review of the policies and programs implemented during the current fiscal year 2081/82.
According to the Authority, the review assessed the success, outcomes, and overall impact of the initiatives carried out under the existing framework. The findings are expected to inform the direction of the insurance sector in the upcoming fiscal year.
Looking ahead, the Authority has outlined an ambitious agenda for 2082/83, with a strong focus on awareness, regulation, and capacity building. The upcoming annual policy includes collaborative insurance awareness campaigns with provincial and local governments, as well as media outreach initiatives to improve public understanding of insurance.
One of the most prominent topics of discussion during the program was the introduction of a unified insurance directive, which is expected to streamline regulatory practices across the sector. The Authority also shared plans to offer scholarships to students pursuing thesis work related to insurance, enhance regulatory effectiveness, and conduct professional training programs for industry stakeholders.
