Agreement Between the Nepal Insurance Authority and the TU Department of Finance of the Tertiary Sector

Kathmandu : There is a dispute between Nepal Insurance Authority and Central Economics Department of Tribhuvan University. In this regard, the Chairman of Nepal Authority Surya Prasad Silwal and Head of Prof. Dr. Shiv Raj Adhikari has signed this on 16 January.

Program Executive Director of Nepal Insurance Authority Rajuraman Paudel and Director Sushil Dev Subedi along with Tribhuvan University, Central Department of Economics Prof. Yogesh Ranjith and Assistance prfessor Resham Thapa has signed the memorandum of understanding.

In order to identify the research area of ​​insurance, the authority and the Central Department of Economics will carry out the research in mutual partnership and the authority will provide the necessary financial support for the research.

Contribution of insurance sector to the country’s economy, development of insurance sector, insurance inclusiveness, insurance business, service quality, operating expenses, financial system, financial literacy, insurance sector challenges, regulation and supervision of insurance companies, reinsurance and risk bearing policy are mentioned in the memorandum of understanding.

On the occasion, Surya Prasad Silwal, Chairman of Nepal Insurance Authority, expressed confidence in the important role of the Authority to study the country’s insurance sector in depth through the agreement. Chairman Silwal also expressed his willingness to make additional arrangements for the insurance policy in the coming financial year.

Head of Central Economics Department of Tribhuvan University, Prof. Shiv Raj Adhikari said that in accordance with the agreement, investigation work related to insurance will be carried forward immediately. The agreement will be valid for four years from the date of signing.
