627 Nepali Insurance Agents Achieve MDRT Targets for 2025
Kathmandu – A total of 627 insurance agents from 14 life insurance companies in Nepal have achieved the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) targets for 2025, marking a significant milestone for the country’s life insurance sector. Among them, six agents attained the highest “Top of the Table” (TOT) recognition, 27 reached the “Court of the Table” (COT), and 594 met the MDRT standard.
MDRT, an international platform for professional insurance agents, symbolizes excellence in the insurance industry. Agents achieving these targets not only gain international recognition but also become eligible to participate in the annual MDRT meeting, which will take place in Miami, USA, from June 22–25, 2025.
Leading the achievements, LIC Nepal produced the highest number of qualifiers, with 131 agents meeting the MDRT criteria. This includes three TOTs, 14 COTs, and 114 MDRTs, reaffirming LIC Nepal’s leadership in the industry. National Life Insurance followed closely with 100 qualifiers, including two TOTs, three COTs, and 95 MDRTs. This year marked a historic moment for National Life, as it achieved two TOTs for the first time.
Nepal Life Insurance secured the third position with 95 qualifiers, including one COT. Himalayan Life Insurance contributed significantly with 81 agents meeting the MDRT target, while Sanima Reliance Life Insurance saw 26 qualifiers, including one TOT, two COTs, and 23 MDRTs.
Other companies also made noteworthy contributions. IME Life Insurance saw 44 agents qualify, including one COT, while Citizen Life Insurance had 41 qualifiers, of which three were COTs. Suryajyoti Life Insurance had 40 agents qualify, with two achieving COT status. Reliable Nepal Life contributed 36 MDRTs, and Prabhu Mahakshmi Life Insurance saw 19 agents qualify, with one reaching the COT level. Sun Nepal Life reported two MDRTs this year.
Despite the achievements, the government-owned Rastriya Jeevan Beema Company and MetLife Nepal, which has been active in MDRT in past years, did not report any qualifiers for 2025.
The MDRT target for 2025 required agents to generate Rs 4.69 million in business, while the COT benchmark stood at Rs 14.78 million. Achieving these goals reflects the relentless dedication of these agents, who continue to inspire over 200,000 life insurance agents in Nepal.
