Nepal Reinsurance Tops NEPSE in Market Value

Kathmandu — Nepal Reinsurance Company has emerged as the largest company in terms of market capitalization on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), overtaking Bishal Bazaar Company.

Even with the decline, its total market capitalization stood strong at more than Rs. 197.1 billion as of Asoj 2, with its share price falling from Rs. 163 to Rs. 146.8 per share. Data from the final trading day of Bhadra confirmed Nepal Reinsurance in the leading position, with Bishal Bazaar following behind. Nepal Telecommunications Company Limited and Nabil Bank occupied the third and fourth positions, while Citizens Investment Trust and Himalayan Reinsurance Company ranked next. Global IME Bank, Everest Bank, Nepal Investment Mega Bank, and Nepal Life Insurance rounded out the top ten.
The overall market has faced a sharp downturn. The total market capitalization, which had reached Rs. 446.7 billion by bhadra end, plummeted by nearly Rs. 300 billion to Rs. 419.9 billion in just one day of trading on Ashoj 2.
