Government Begins Vehicle Insurance Under Public Property Protection Plan
Kathmandu – The government has initiated the process of insuring vehicles two months after announcing a plan to insure public property. The Ministry of Finance has begun the first phase by insuring 20 vehicles under its fleet.
The decision to ensure government-owned physical structures and fully ensure government vehicles was made by the Council of Ministers on Ashoj 5, following significant damage to public property during the Genji movement on Bhadra 23 and 24.
In line with this decision, the Ministry of Finance stated that it has insured 20 of its vehicles through the National Insurance Company. The Ministry has also sent formal correspondence to all federal ministries, provincial governments, and local levels to ensure nationwide implementation of the insurance plan.
According to the Ministry, the insurance process has begun as outlined in the first-phase guidelines approved by the Cabinet on Ashoj 5
