Commercial Banks Report Improved Earnings Per Share; Seven Banks Exceed NPR 20
Kathmandu – Commercial banks have reported an improvement in earnings per share (EPS), according to third-quarter financial reports for the current fiscal year 2025/26 (up to mid-April).
The average EPS of banks stood at NPR 17.01 during the period, an increase of NPR 2.48 compared to NPR 14.53 recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
However, compared to the third quarter of last year, EPS declined for several banks, including NIC Asia Bank, Everest Bank, Nepal Investment Mega Bank, Global IME Bank, Standard Chartered Bank Nepal, and Prabhu Bank.
Nabil Bank reported the highest EPS among all banks, rising by NPR 7.97 to reach NPR 33.02.

By the end of the nine-month period, Everest Bank posted an EPS of NPR 32.35, followed by Nepal Bank at NPR 25.34, Rastriya Banijya Bank at NPR 23.55, and Sanima Bank at NPR 22.92.
Kumari Bank recorded the highest growth in EPS during the review period, with an increase of NPR 19.79, taking its EPS to NPR 21.24 compared to the previous fiscal year.
Nepal Investment Mega Bank reported the lowest EPS at NPR 12.29. Meanwhile, Global IME Bank recorded NPR 15.40 and Nepal SBI Bank posted NPR 17.19.
EPS is calculated by dividing a company’s net profit after tax by its total number of outstanding shares.
