Merger Terror on Employees of Prabhu Mahalakshmi Life, Pressure to Leave Their Jobs

Kathmandu: Prabhu Mahalakshmi Life Insurance Company’s managers have started merger terror on the employees. The victims complained that around two dozen employees were pressured to leave their jobs under the pell-to-the-wall policy as permanent employees could not be fired. Before the start of the merger, company committed to adjust all the employees without any fuss but now 2 dozen employees have been asked to resign saying that they have problems due to the management position. Nepal Insurance Authority has asked not to fire anyone from the job due to merger in insurance companies. However, the aggrieved (victim) employees have complained that the company’s top management has demanded the resignation of the permanent employees. The victimized employees of Prabhu Mahalakshmi Life have complained that the company has treated the employees in a disrespectful way by violating the instructions of the insurance authority.”The authority said that the companies involved in the merger should not be fired or demoted but that was also not followed and we were deprived of our job”, the victim employee expressed his grief with Beemapost. Before the merger of Prabhu Life Insurance and Mahalakshmi Life Insurance, there was news of increasing the service facilities for the employees, but in the end, they betrayed the employees on the eve of the festival, says the victim employees.By giving targets that they cannot meet in the middle of the economic crisis, the management of the company is making strategic plans to make the permanent employees forced to leave the company. Before the merger, Prabhu Mahalakshmi Life Insurance assured that the employees who were about to retire would be discharged as late as possible but now the employees complain that it is difficult for them to resign without the assurance of special service facilities that they will get after resigning and there is no working environment.
