Prime Minister Prachanda is going to Jajarkot with a team of health workers at Tribhuvan airport

Kathmandu : Prime Minister Prachanda reached the Tribhuvan Airport early in the morning after the rescue and relief work could not proceed quickly in Jajarkot, which was hit by a powerful earthquake at midnight yesterday. Prime Minister Prachanda is going to go to Jajarkot in a helicopter of the Nepali Army along with health workers, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.

With the complaint of Jajarkot residents that the Nepali Army has shown little interest in the rescue which should be done from this morning, Prime Minister Prachanda has given instructions to mobilize the Nepali Army at war level. Prime Minister Prachanda himself is going to go to the earthquake-affected areas in order to prevent the loss of the earthquake that reached Jajarkotbasi and Rukum West and the reduction in rescue and relief.

128 people died in Jajarkot due to the earthquake that happened on Friday night.

55 people were injured.

It is reported that the Prime Minister reached Prachanda Airport at 6 o’clock this morning and will fly to Jajarkot shortly.

He said that a police team was dispatched from Chaurjahari Base Camp at 1:00 pm after receiving information about the huge loss of life due to the earthquake.

Spokesman Kadayat said, “A rescue team has been deployed from Surkhet at 4 pm, medical team and disaster management team are also on standby.”

36 people died in the earthquake in Rukum West. There are 85 injured people, said the spokesperson strictly. Along with this, the death toll from the earthquake has reached 128, and a total of 140 people have been injured.

The district hospital at Khalanga in Jajarkot headquarters is filled with hundreds of injured people. Rajendra Bikram Shah of Jajarkot’s Khalanga said that dozens have died due to the earthquake and many more dead are yet to be rescued, so details cannot be given right now. He said that most of the houses in the surrounding areas of Ramidanda, which was the epicenter of the earthquake, were destroyed.

A total of 21 people died tragically in Ward No. 11, 12, 13 and 14 of Aathbiskot Municipality in Rukum West, Sandesh KC, former mayor of that municipality, wrote on social media. On the other hand, District Police Office Rukum West has reported that at least 36 people have died due to the earthquake. Similarly, more than 20 people have died only in Ward No. 1 of Nalgad Municipality of Jajarkot.

Due to the loss of communication and lack of electricity, it is becoming difficult to rescue during the night. The local administration said.Meanwhile, Prime Minister Prachanda has mentioned that all three security agencies have been mobilized for the rescue and relief of the earthquake-affected people who went to Jajarkot through social media this morning. Prime Minister Prachanda himself has deployed to the earthquake-affected areas for rescue, according to sources at the Prime Minister’s Residence, Baluwatar.

After such an earthquake, thousands of people slept outside their houses, but the presence of the Nepalese army was not seen in the rescue and relief. According to Rajendra Bikram Shah, who is engaged in rescue and relief work at the district hospital at Khalanga in Jajarkot, the presence of the Nepali Army has not been seen in the rescue and relief work. Similarly, it is said that the armed police and public police in the district did not contribute much to the rescue and relief of the earthquake victims.
